Who this covers
Load Bearing Code is Christopher McGrath's software practice in Cleveland, Tennessee. This policy covers loadbearingcode.com, the client portal and the email that goes with them. "I" means me, Christopher.
What I collect
When you send a message, request a discovery call or book a time, I keep what you type: your name, email address, company, and the details of what you need. Booking also keeps your phone number if you give one, your timezone and your answers to the booking questions.
When you download a guide, I keep your email address. If you ask for your readiness checklist results by email, I keep your address and your results. If you don't, your checklist answers stay in your own browser and never reach me.
Along with any of these, I record your IP address, the page that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed. That tells me which posts and ads bring people in, and helps me spot spam.
If you're a client, I also keep your portal account, your support requests and any files attached to them, plus your estimates, invoices and payments. Email you send to my support address becomes a support request, attachments included.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets two cookies of its own. One keeps your session working and the other protects forms from forged submissions. Neither tracks you across other sites.
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Google sets its own cookies to do that and processes the data under its own policy. You can block it with Google's opt-out browser add-on or any ad blocker. The rest of the site works the same without it.
The readiness checklist saves your answers in your browser's local storage, so they're still there if you come back. Clearing your site data removes them.
What I use it for
I use your information to reply to you, run the call you booked, deliver what you asked for, and do the work you hire me to do, including billing. I also use it to understand how people find the site. I don't sell your personal information.
How long I keep it
I keep inquiries, bookings and client records for as long as they're useful for the work or for my business records. Server logs are deleted after 14 days. If you want your information deleted sooner, ask and I'll delete what I'm not required to keep.
Your choices
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Send the request through the contact page and I'll answer within one business day, with the request itself handled within 30 days.
Children
The site is for businesses. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page changes with it.
